Cannot open common folder, says location not available
Why can I not open my common folder? I have administrator rights. I get an error message saying "location not available" and "access denied". I haven't found anyone else with this problem. I checked the content log and it says repeatedly "disk write error" for steamapps/common. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling steam. Help??

Congratulations! your hard drive and / or file system corrupted - Use chkdsk to check disk for the file system errors and / or MHDD | Victoria to check the disk surface.
If MHDD|Victoria find broken clasters - Erase entire disk with this program.

Consider a backup and buying a new disk.
