Anyway to directly download a game?
So, here's the problem. At home, I am severely limited in bandwidth due to living in a rural area, therefore I cannot download my Steam games in a timely fashion. For example, downloading CoH would take me a literal half a year to download, and almost half a grand.

So I've gone to a library. Problem is that suddenly Steam can't find it's servers here. I checked out all the properties of the connection, and everything looks fine, but I just can't log into the launcher. I'm just curious if there is any way at all that I can just download purchased Steam games via a direct download link or through the browser? Or maybe get the launcher to work? I tried all sorts of different login methods and I can't see what could be causing the problem.

I'd really love to find some way to do this because I've been trying for several months now.

There is no direct download for Steam games without use of the client. Your library may have filters and blocks preventing bandwith hogging services like Steam. or sites with offensive content. Ask your library's IT guy. If that's the case there are a lot of places that have free wifi such as Starbucks and many other places just google free wifi access and the area you are in. there are several sites and apps that will show you a map of them.
