Got a new headset, but I cannot get the mic to work

Hello, everyone!
A few days ago, I bought the Razer Kraken 7.1 headset. The headset itself works fine, but I can't get the mic to work. When I test my mic, it shows that it works, and it plays back my voice fine, it's when I use Steam Chat or try to talk in-game that no one can hear me (it shows that I am speaking). I've researched online but to no avail. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Hey what game(s) are not working? Can you check the in game settings?

Are you sure the people you are speaking to don't have their voice audio turned down?

I've been testing it with my brother and he says he can't hear anything. He's gone into his settings and whatnot to try different things, but nothing.
The only game I've tried it with so far is ORION Dino Horde and Steam Chat. My settings are all correct, and I can hear others.

im having the same issue and ive checked and made sure it was the default device teamspeak and skype pick it up fine but in steam when i hit test nothing goes through.

The weird part is that when I test it, it shows the sound detection meter go up and I can hear what I said very clearly, just others can't.

This - try adjusting your mic volume as Steam chat can have some weird balancing issues depending on mics of different people involved in the chat. I occasionally have mic issues with my G930, but usually hitting the "re-detect audio devices" button in the Steam voice options clears it up.

Try changing them in the Control Panel in Windows or within any software you might run alongside your headset.

check in your recordings and make sure there high there aswell

I've changed some settings and still nothing. It's weird that I can go into a recording program and record my voice using the mic no problem, but it's only when I try to chat with someone that the sound won't pick up on their end.

Hmm, that sounds like a Steam/Internet issue then as clearly nothing is wrong with the mic.
