When is the Steam Summer Sale?

So, when is it. So i can save my cash for cheap games. Date please.

You must be new around here...if there was a set date it'd be plastered all over. It's a safe bet it's probably some time between now and August. I'd guess late June or early July based on history but Steam has never released the date early afaik. It just happens.

I don't know, but a hunch tells me it will occur when you log into Steam and see the giant "Summer Sale!" or something to that effect plastered across your screen. In the meantime, peruse the daily and weekly specials.

The only dates we know right now are guessing games and the sale is NEVER announced in advance.

There is a rumor going around that they set the deadline for devs to put in their games for sales by 6/13, which would mean the sale would start the next week (they always start on a Thurs), so that would be 6/19.

You'll know its incoming b/c the day before the sale starts the Daily Deal will only be lasting 24 hours (they normally last 48). So, every wednesday look at the daily deal and if the countdown clock is only 24 hours, the sale starts the next day.

Basically, its soon, but no one can answer any questions definitively now.

There are probably a dozen threads on this already so don't be surprised if this one gets locked or deleted. Just do a search next time, or google it.

They don't publish the dates of the sales because it would cannabalize sales up until that point.

Last year there was a Spring sale (just indie titles) in March, Summer Sale (most titles) in July, Halloween sale (horror titles), Autumn sale (don't remember) around Thanksgiving, and the Winter sale around Christmas.
And you have the constant sales as well. The daily title sale (posted at 1 p.m. est lasting 48 hours), Mid-week madness sales (I think tue-thr @1 p.m.)), Weekend sales (thurs-monday @ 1 p.m.), Week long sales (Monday 1 p.m.-next monday @1 p.m.). Also publishers are free to make sales at any point they wish ( I believe the minnimum length is 48 hours though it could be 24).

to earn cards in the community votes or if valve does another raffle you need lvl 5 to enter it.

this is not a 100% sure for the next event but thats how it worked for the last events.

Of course, all you get for votes are cards, so it's not mandatory to have level 5. You are NOT getting a bonus discount slapped on top of the normal prices, for example.

selling a card is an extra discount in my book.

valve was giving away 100 games and top price was all the games on steam.

Where did he get his info from? If this leaked email is true then it will be the 14th at the earliest but more likely not for a cople weeks after as they have to plan, organize, and upload all the sale related stuff.
