product or cd key

about 3 months ago I had Train sim 2013 installed on my computer. but i ended up deleting it. The problem that i'm having is i want to reinstall the game, but when i do it wants my product or cd key. The key does belong to me i bought the game on CD. Also the game is not in my STEAM library, i'm lost on how to go about playing it again. PLEASE someone help me.....

You must be logged into the wrong Steam account. Log into the account you originally had the game on.

When you had TS 2013 installed was it through Steam or did it not use Steam at all?

if you installed it off a cd and not through steam your going to have to find your original cd key. not really a way to get around it.

Also, if you have a Steam key for the game, then that key will be on some account (not the one you used to make this post). Steam support should be able to help with finding that account again.

Thanks for all the input, but infortunately i have only one steam account, also it was on CD but it did link up with STEAM, i'm also confused because i do have all the original CD case and paper work that came with it that has the original CD or product key. Also when i tried to install and it said it was linked to an account, it sent an email to my email account saying someone tried to accsess the cd key. One last thing i tried to get ahold of STEAM support but it says that it will send a conformation email to my email but i never recieve i, i know it's the right email because it says sent to my AOL account. So thanks for the help gentleman i do apprieciate it, thanks again....

different account. exact same name. I can't tell anything else though. Profile has never been created.

You may want to try this to find the login that originally registered it:

First, look for any emails from Steam in your inbox (particularly a Welcome to Steam email from when you first registered the game).

Second, follow these instructions with that email ( from https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2424-ERJZ-5449 )


If you do not know your Steam Account name:

• Select the I don't know my account name. option and click Next.
  
• Select an item of information, preferably the account's contact email address.
  
• Enter the contact email address on record with Steam to have Steam Support email your Steam Account name to this address.
  
• Repeat the initial step in this process and, upon receiving the email message containing your Account name, select the "I know my account name" option. Or, if you didn't receive this email message, Contact Steam Support.

thanks everyone i figured it out!!!! thanks for the help. i did have another steam account, with the same email add. thats why i was so lost, but silicon vampire you helped the most by sending me the other wav3131 link, after that i figured it out that i did make another steam account, it took me awhile to figure the old password out.. BUT THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE HELP
