Can't access download servers
Hi. I'm having a weird problem since a few days. The Steam browser seems to be unable to open any page, if I try to use the shop or community tabs, I get 'error code:-130 unknown error (page can't be shown)', and when I try to install a game I bought, the installation cancels after a few seconds because Steam 'could not access download servers'.

I've tried it several times throughout the day now, disabled my firewall and Hamachi (both never caused issues, but I wanted to be sure), and I'm fairly certain I did not install anything new. Is anyone having the same problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? I also contacted the support, but figured I might also ask here. Thanks!

edit: it is not my connection, Firefox works fine.
edit2: Updates are also paused since a few days

edit3: tried to reinstall Steam. Now it opens, checks for updates, claims it needs internet connection and shuts down again.

Latter problem could be fixed with system recovery. I'm back to having error -130, but at least I can run stuff again.

I tried several that several times and realised that the issue was that the proxy server was being set automatically with the adress ***/wpad.pac?stamp=0. Searched it up and found that the Hola VPN program was setting it, unistall it and it will all be fixed.

Hope I'm not breaking a rule here by reawakening a six month old topic, but I'm having the same issue.
I did the following:
(Since I don't use proxies) checked anyway, were off, so not an issue.
changed the server locations, no result.
checked the list and took action against programs that interfere with steam, no result.
disabled firewalls, no result.
disabled Window Defender, no result.
turned off 3rd party extensions, no result.
reinstalled steam, no result.
the Steam Client still can't connect to the servers...
I saw that about Hola VPN, don't I have it, so that's not an issue...
what's missing?
Is there some kind of diagnostic I can run to see where the problem is?

I've tried several different servers...
Edit, well, that's something, even though I'd changed the server several times prior to that post, maybe it was, maybe it wasn't but I changed the server again, to the one for Israel, it worked.

I got it to work again after a few days by doing a complete system recovery to a date when it still worked. Tried everything else, though - checked settings, ports, reset every piece of resetable hardware, deactivated firewalls and so on.

I also went back to my conversation with the Steam support for the diagnostic links, here's what they gave me:

steam://support/?Issues=*

steam://support/?Issues=*&Tests=Ports

Paste those into your browser window, apparently Steam will open and do some tests then, hopefully figuring out what's wrong. Hope that helped, sorry if not!

No, I don't.
I would think it to be my internet connection, considering it's ether Hughsnet or tethering with my phone, except that I still had this problem when I was visiting my sister, until I switched to the Israeli server.
