Some of my Games are missing
So there was an update on steam beta about an hour ago. So I applied the update and restart steam l ike usual. But then I realized that my games are missing after I did that. The games that are missing are the ones that I got for free like Left 4 Dead 2 from last christmas. Arma from that one time promo, Red Orchestra 2, etc. At least those are the games that I noticed are missing. It doesn't showed up in my library but it's still there in my profile (the "games" section on my profile). It used to showed up on my library. What's happening? There are no notification whatsoever on why these games are missing from my library. And no, I'm not talking about free to play games. Am I the ony one? Would anybody explain this to me? Thanks in advance.

is your library set to 'all games'?
Left for dead 2 and red orchestra are both listed as games you own via your profile. What does it say when you go to the store page for any of the missing games?
I'm betting if you try to reinstall them that it will detect the files and only download any that may be missing if at all.

Yes it's set to all games. I notice this because Arma : Cold War was the first game on the list (the one on the very top) and now it's gone.

Indeed. It's still on my profile, still on my account details, still "you already own the game" on the store page and all. It's just not on my library when it used to be there before I restarted steam.

If the store says you already own it you should see something that says "play now" or something similar in green. If you click it it will launch the game unless it doesn't think you have it installed in which case it will attempt to reinstall and download it, and if the files are all there it will just verify them then launch the game.

The missing games are not installed. And I haven't tried to clikc the green "play now" button to see if the games are back on my library or not because I'm afraid I'll miss something. I guess I'll just wait until they explain what's happening and fixed this bug or something.

Ok that should not affect anything or cause more problems. Whether you're waiting for support to reply or for the next beta update it's going to be awhile (probably at least a week) before you'll see anything.

Roll back to the non-beta version via the Steam > Settings menu and see if it fixes it.

If it doesn't, you may have to contact support as recommended by this page.

I imagine you can still play the games in the meantime if you launch them via the SteamApps directory. You could always create shortcuts on the desktop until it's resolved (assuming rolling back to the non-beta client doesn't fix it).
Thanks for the advice. It works well and all those games are back on my library. I assumed it's just one of those bugs that happened to the beta version of steam. Thanks again and cheers.
