It depends on your country/region for what are the accepted forms of funding.

If you're in the U.S. you can use credit card, debit card, certain pre-paid cards, JCB cards, physical gift cards (available at various retailers like Target or Gamestop) paypal (which can use a credit card or your bank account), also you can also use Google Wallet once you get the free mastercard. It works kind of like paypal. Google wallet you can transfer funds instantly from your bank account or a credit/debit card to your wallet. They will also send you a free mastercard debit card to use for physical and online purchases. You don't have to worry about fraud with it because you cannot spend any more money than what is in the wallet (which can be any amount you choose) and it will not autodraft additional funds if the payment comes up short. There are also no charges or fees for using it (Only if adding funds from an existing debit or credit card I believe).

I use my credit card for most purchases online becausee it gives me really good airline miles and cash back plus credit cards provide the best security/fraud protection, but I use that Google card on sketchy websites that may be offering a great deal but don't have a reputation to discern.
