Mouse Polling Rate?
I am having problems with most games i play coming to a complete and total halt while my mouse is in motion. I am getting kind of annoyed with the problem and can't seem to figure out how to fix this. I saw online about people saying you just have to change the polling rate for my mouse but all of these threads are just extensive amounts of replies of people not knowing how, so i just want to make my own thread and ask. Doesn anyone know how to fix this issue? it is extremely bothering me and makes games very hard to play.

My mouse is a levetron gm-2000

Aparently this mouse is locked at 125Hz. Have you tired using any third-party software to change it?

well, mabe it isn't the polling rate that is the issue then, perhaps it is something else? either way, i've used all of my computer knowledge that i have to try everything in the books bu i am stumped as to what could be the problem

Doesn't sound like a polling rate issue to me, TBH. Either way, changing mouse polling rate is a huge pain in the ass in Win7/8...

my computer has no problems running the games. i have 8gb Ram and a gtx 670 graphics card. It is some kind of issue with the mouse. I have partially aleviated the issue by running some of the games as administrator though

This could be caused by something running in the background.

tried literally everything. The games very rarely get anywhere close to using all of the ram available. again, it only lags at all when the mouse is in motion. for instance, i'm playing diablo at 60 fps and as soon as the mouse begins moving, it drops to 5. but as soon as the mouse stops, it begins at 60 again.

Hmmm.... strange. What are all of the devices that you have plugged in to your machine?

i solved the problem. Seemed there was an excess of dust in just the right place within the pc. Disassembled and cleaned the whole thing and now it is fine
