hi i have just downloaded windows 8 and i started or tried to play some of my games like rust cod gohsts and gmod but they are all now really laggy could this be down to windows 8 or my wifi it has always been slow but never this bad

Did you do a clean install or just an upgrade?
Have you updated from Win 8 to 8.1?

right click bottom left in the start button and go to system and check what version you are using.

Install drivers, especially video card drivers.

Windows can automatically find and update drivers for you. Sometimes manafacturers tweak drivers so they may not be recognizeable though by Windows, and any custom ones you should be careful replacing them with their generic counterparts. Your manafacturer may have included a program that provides updates for drivers and programs.

Offline/single player games work fine though right?

Go to www.speedtest.net and give me your download/upload speed and your ping.
