stream non-Steam games (Origin, possibly Uplay)
To stream non-Steam games, such as games launched via Origin, click to Add a Game -> Add a Non-Steam Game. Select your game from the list provided, or if not listed, click Browse and find the game's exe file and add it to the list. Click checkbox next to game in list, click Add Selected Programs.

Once you've added the non-Steam game, find it in your game library (using classic Steam interface), right-click, click on Properties.

Assuming your Target field currently looks something like:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Need for Speed(TM) Rivals\NFS14.exe"

Then you're going to update your Target field to add the Origin exe, like so:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Need for Speed(TM) Rivals\NFS14.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin\Origin.exe"

Then click OK to save the change.

You'll also want to update your Origin Settings.
In Origin: Settings -> General, uncheck "Automatically launch Origin when I log on to Windows".
Also: Settings -> Advanced -> Automatic Exit -> check "Automatically exit Origin after closing a game"
Not sure if this is necessary, but I also disable Origin In Game: Settings -> Origin In Game -> uncheck "Enable Origin In Game"

At this point, you should be able to stream Origin games via Steam.

EDIT: I've tested variations on this approach to allow me to stream Watch Dogs (purchased via UPlay), but no luck so far. I'm able to launch Watch Dogs from Steam using the approach above (replacing Origin exe with Uplay exe). Nvidia Geforce Experience allows me to stream it via GameStream though (Nvidia Shield). So it's only Steam-specific streaming that is failing for me currently.

What i tried was add the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\Uplay.exe" so you can first stream the Uplay Launcher and then i was able to start my games (should also work for other games like "far cry 3". Hope i could help

did you solve it ?

I now use Nvidia's Geforce Experience + Nvidia Shield for game streaming. Works great for me, as it also supports multi-controller gameplay, meaning I can do local co-op/versus on my 70" tv, streamed from my PC. Pretty slick.

Old post, but i just want to thank you for this post anyway as its benefit me. :)

I tried this with Trials Fusion, and your solution worked 100% :)

Have a nice day!

If you have problems streaming an Origin game even after following these steps, this is what worked for me:

Add the Origin client itself as a non-steam game to your library, and then simply launch your game of choice from Origin. Then, if you have Origin set to exit automatically when the game exits, exiting the game will properly end the streaming.

exchange the target field so:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin\Origin.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Need for Speed\NFS16.exe"

So I tried streaming need for speed 2016 on my steam link with a XBOX 360 controller connected but when I am in the game the car is constantly accelerating and braking at the same time. So its slowly moving forward all by itself.

First try:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin\Origin.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Need for Speed\NFS16.exe"
this order doesn't work for me at all

Second try:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Need for Speed\NFS16.exe" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin\Origin.exe"
Works but with the issue mentioned above.

Anyone else with this problem? I'm using Win 10 Pro. Every other non origin game works to stream on steam link. If I play NFS on my Desktop PC everything works fine. I just really wanted to play NFS on the couch, because Racing Games are good for couch gaming.

has anybody experience with streaming sims3 from origin via steam? tried all those tips, but it just starts the stream and then it closes again after a few seconds :/

I know this is an old thread, but if anyone should find it in the future, then I would like to add to it.
I just tried this with AC Valhalla, bought through ubisoft connect. I only added the ac valhalla.exe to steam via the add non steam game, and I was able to stream it to my samsung s23 with the steam link app without doing any of the above-mentioned trickery. It just worked first try

Edit:
This also worked for streaming to my laptop. Should anyone need that info

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
