Malicious adverts that can't be picked up by antivirus on Steam Client
I have been having a lot of problems with the Steam Client lately, I have recently had a malware breakout in my PC, I have managed to cull it with several programs (although Malwarebytes has stopped working for some reason and Chameleon hasn't helped either).

I have culled the Malware and my browsers no longer get malicious adverts but the Steam Client does, and sometimes when I try to click on anything on the Store page (such as the search bar) a glitchy transparent window opens which is just a Windows border that is not resizeable and I have to close it via the taskbar.

I have tried reinstalling Steam, full system scans and deleting files that I did not remember allowing into my computer but none of it has worked, I would greatly appreciate some help before I have to reformat my PC.

It will be inconvenient though as I will have to move so many files over to external hard drives and USB drives, if the worst comes to the worst I'll do it, but if someone has had this before and has a solution would make things so much easier for me.
Inconvenient, but necessary if you can't get rid of it through programs like Malwarebytes and other anti virus and malware programs.

Maybe if it inconveniences you enough, you'll learn to protect yourself online better. Good secure browser, ad blocking, script blocking, and safer browsing and downloading habits.
I know that that shows evidence of being disabled by Malware, but then, as I put just after that Chameleon would have fixed it, as it is designed to combat malware that stops Malwarebytes from starting, I may end up doing a reinstall.
It seems to be a new strain that most anti-virus/malware/spyware programs can't seem to identify or remove. Some people have reported success with doing a system restore so I'd try that before completely reformatting the HD.
Meh, I've done a reinstall and it's fixed the problem, I've also learnt my lesson in internet security and I am now running Google Chrome beefed up with adblock and Avast do not track, thanks for the help though!
Why is there a deluge is these topics lately? They all must be downloading something? Is thee some new FREE GAMEZ scam going around?
No, the problem actually started for me weeks ago, only today have I finally resorted to a reinstall, which I don't mind really!
hola solo ago esto por el logro :D
Have you tried Avira, Norton, Adaware? Just don't run them all at the same time.

You say it started weeks ago, can you remember any odd sites you visited around that time or unusual offers or downloads you might have accepted?

Satoru's right, there have been a lot of people getting hit by this thing, whatever it is. The best way to fight it would be to first figure out where it's coming from. What do you guys all have in common?
It was mainly dodgy downloads which I have avoided ever since, it's just a sort of learning curve really, learning how to be secure.

The best advice for remaining secure on the internet is:

TRUST NO ONE.

This means don't download stuff from shady sources, don't divulge personal information anywhere to anyone, don't friend every random person on facebook or Steam or youtube, run a virus scanner that checks constantly while connected, do regular full scans of your machine, never let someone talk you into something that sounds weird, check to see where your links are taking you, don't let greed lead you into a hasty trade that feels shaky, be wary of emails with links that ask you to log in through them.
I agree, I have become a lot more cautious internet lately, in fact it's very rarely that I visit any other websites than the ones I normally use.
