MTU and Bandwith Capping
Guys,my country has a ♥♥♥♥ty internet and even if we have a fast one,we have our limits. After we pass the limit the download speed goes down to 3mbits.So we figured a way to prevent this.We change our MTU to different numbers and get our real speeds back. But that doesn't work with steam.Steam still downloads with 3mbits.I'm sure some of you already encountered that problem and solved it.Please if you know how to make this work with steam tell me.

I don't see how an ISP limiting your bandwidth (which happens BEFORE it reaches your property) can be affected in any way by changing your routers/pc MTU setting.

MTUs doesnt change your bandwidth available to you. You can set your MTU to whatever you want. Your bandwidth is always going to stay the same. Whatever you're seeing wtih changing your MTU is a placebo.

Actually,no.I dont know if i used Bandwith the wrong way.Satoru, without changing the mtu,i download with like 300kb/s after reaching the monthly limit. When i change MTU,it returns to my real speed.

And again MTU just changes your packet size, not you download speed which is controlled by your ISP
