Thx god i was smart to doubt it as i saw the last step of the email part.
"The ip is from America" + him asking to relay the link of the email that allow "the ip in question" to get the account's creditentials.
I want to also thanks all people on internet that warn about never sharing account infos.
Thx and pity, for all scammed people that allow other users to know that bad guys scam this way.
It's me remembering this stuff that made me doubt this last step.
ALSO.
IF VALVE CAN HEAR ME.
If you could post a @everyone to all users about this danger it could be REALLY USEFUL FOR ALL USERS. And probably future save lot of potential targeted people.
Bc this scammer duo was quite good at it.
This "Jay shaw". He could show a (probably fake) gif showing him having admin permissions with what seemed to be my steam account.
And a discord video call showing his "VALVE admin" steam account.
Also this first user seemed like a true anxious person feeling scared of me being wrongly banned.
Also as proof they were truly scammers, the "Jay" now don't accept dms after i said "Keh. Steam said you are a scammer."
Please do not post any "proof" of whatever on the forums.
1) Asking me to log out
2) Email recuperation thing. As someone that often used other computers, know that using this method can allow you to access an account from other computers/phones.
3) Him saying it's "This the only way sir", which scream ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to my brain
4) I googled and go to https://www.valvesoftware.com/en/people
and "Jay shaw" in section "Product design"
True. It indeed make sense that ton other users were probably targeted. Scammed or dodged the bullet.
Is it the rate of being scammed high ?
Like making it big letters in a often used section of steam or as a unskippeable thing by making so you need to rewrite the warning manually letter per letter.
Please no, we already have so many restrictions due to people falling for scams. If a stranger on the internet told you they were super man would you believe them? Why did you believe the scammer was an admin for steam..?
theres just so many red flags already.
