ARK and Rust are both very good games but I would definitely go with ARK. After a week and a half of having it, it has been the only game I have played, which is very unsual for me. Rust on the other hand I might play with a friend if we are bored one afternoon. I feel that ARK has more of a purpose, maybe it's that I just love dinosaurs, or after an hour of taming whilst to collect berries and trying protect your dinosaur that is being tamed from other predators, gives you a sense of accomplishment. It just feels good. The leveling up system is also great as I feel that I have somewhere that I aim to be and the new items that come with these levels motivate me even more. Rust on the other hand does not feel like this. It has nothing quite as unique as dinosaurs, which might be good if you are looking mainly for realism, but most of all, I feel that it lacks a purpose. Yes, I can think "alright I want to build this house and I have to work hard to get there" but there is nothing else for me. I end up just wondering around doing nothing or either dying because I have gotten so bored that I decide to punch a bear while I am naked.
So if you are going to pick a game, I would suggest ARK.
Thanks,
Hidden_Hood. :) .
