Age limit on accounts?
Hi there. Is there an age limit to opening a Steam account?

I would like my son to have one, although he is a little to young to have his own credit card. I thought if he opens an account, I can buy games on my account and ‘gift’ him the games.

Also it would be a good way for my to see he doesn't play any 18 + games

Will this work?

13 is the minimum age when creating a steam account.

Creating a separate account for your child is a good idea. If he is at least 13 years old, you can create an account for him.
If you want to have some control over what he plays, use Family View (Link) to implement limitations.
There are a lot of Free to Play games on Steam, not suitable for minors, hence my recommendation.

Thank you both for such a quick response. I'll go ahead and create his account. Can't wait to to play co-op Portal with him :)
