Intel HD Graphics 5500 Gaming Problems
Okay I go to system requirements lab and it says I can't run anything because I am missing "3D". I have completly updated all my processors and drivers, and still no luck. I just bought this laptop and it drives me mad. I am not expecting to run crazy games just classic total war titles and some older EA titles.
I have..
6GB RAM
750GB hardrive
Intel HD Graphics 5500
DirectX 11
Windows 8.1
I have googled but it seems I have a rare problem or I am missing the simple solution. I would appreciate any help.

1 ) Uninstall your drivers from our laptop manufacturer because those are likely total garbage
2) reboot
3) get the latest Intel drivers from intel.com
4) install
5) reboot

Note some games will not support Intel video cards no matter how much you update.

I reinstalled all my drivers and still says that I lack 3D. I am stumped because it obviously has the 3D ability because in the intel graphic control panel there's a whole area for 3D controls and settings. I figure it being the best intel card out there it would be able to run a game from 2006.....
ALso yes I meant windows 8.1 but the graphics card is a HD 5500

Well, especially older games have problems running with Intel videochips. Generally it's hit or miss with Intel ones.
They weren't designed with gaming in mind.

If you are using integrated graphics, system requirements lab is of no use to you. It's for people with a dedicated gpu, lol.

I have intel hd 3000 in my laptop and I can run a lot of games that sysreqlab (and people on steam forums) have told me I can't run. I can run all the total war games up to and including shogun 2 for example. I can also run the first three arkham games and farcry 3 on low-med settings at about 30 fps. All that being said, don't expect to play witcher 3 (though I did beat the first two on mine lol)

Thanks I guess I'll just have to have faith in intel.
Do you mean to say Iris Pro graphics?
I'm late to the party, but here's a list from Intel of what games you can play with an i5 and the 4400. It says at the bottom of the page that this applies to 5500 too.
