Do I have to redeem GTA V?

I am planning to buy GTA V directly from steam,but after I bought it,will they give me any codes that I need to key into Social Club to redeem it or will Steam automatically redeem GTA V for me?If I need to key in a code to redeem,will steam give me the code instantly after I buy it or will I need to wiat till download is finish?GTA V owners please help!

GTA's launcher will ask you to log-in with your social club account and then you'll have to paste that CD-KEY.

You don't have to log-in with your browser in your social account to apply the code. You'll do that in the launcher
