How to re-purchase game?

Trying to play Among Us ... it was still in my Steam library but constantly showed "running" and (this is the key part) wasn't actually on disk (no Innersloth or Among Us folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common). I've no idea why; it's been a couple of years since I played it and I'm assuming one of the kids (or I) did something stupid with my computer when they were all playing it back then.

Uninstalling it was out of the question then: no game folder, no uninstall binary.

I used the Steam support wizard to permanently remove it from my account - no refund, ok no problem, at least that gets it out of the list of game in my Library.

But I can't re-buy it, either: the Among Us game page shows "Your account already owns a removed copy of the above items, so you can’t purchase them again. You can restore these items via Steam Support, purchase these items as a gift or adjust the contents of your cart to continue."

Aaaaaaaaaargh. So if a game folder gets deleted somehow, I'm just literally f**ked? Can't get it out of my library without removing it; can't re-buy it?

Correct, you can't repurchase something you already own. The "permanently" hide really is just an advanced hide.

Go to the support pages, search the game and use the option "it's not in my library".

Thanks for confirming! That option didn't work because Steam thought it -was- in my library.

I'm currently making an offsite backup of the common folder - heavens forbid I do anything to my BG3 folder!! XD
