Weird audio playing in My Singing Monsters
Hello,

When my son plays My Singing Monsters weird audio starts playing in the background. Sometimes it's adverts for arthritis treatment or financial products, sometimes it's random music unconnected with the game.

It starts up as soon as My Singing Monsters starts up. There are no other programs running that the audio could be coming from. It happens every time he plays it, and the problem started about 2 weeks ago.

Has anyone else encountered this, and does anyone have any idea how to fix it?

Thank you
:steamfacepalm:

Most likely the Steam overlay acting up. We've had several reports about that in the recent past.

Press Shift+Tab and close any open browser tab in the overlay.
If that doesn't help, try this:

Open the Steam client
Navigate to ‘Settings’
Select ‘In Game’ in the side menu
Find ‘Delete Web Browser Data’ and select the ‘Delete’ option

Make sure there isn't a webpage open via the Steam overlay i.e YouTube that's making the sound as even with the overlay closed, the audio from videos can still be heard.

I'd also run a malware scan if this isn't the case.

Thanks so much, this was it. I didn't know about the steam overlay. You've saved our sanity!
You're welcome. Glad to hear (pun intended) it was an easy fix. Enjoy your sanity while it lasts.
