Slow download speed

I have gig speed internet and have done a speed test that shows 1000MB/s and downloaded multiple games from Xbox and pulled those speeds but steam throttles my speeds down to 50MB/s, i have checked the download settings panel and the throttle option isn't on and im on my closest server. any advice?

you mean 1000mbit which is 100mb/s but i know what you mean i have 80mb/s (800mbit) and i only get 60mb/s from steam so i think its capped

old game or should i said very older games at steam is not have frequent access files.

some game is only 10gb or lesser, you do not get GB dl speed at them, could say depend on how new they are, and again part of Frequent access files user DL or not.

i could also say why get GB dl at games most dont access at ALL. ( this is know as frequent access files )

and even old skyrim is atm still been seen as frequent accessed files, how i know try dl very old games and see yourself. ( and it dont make it better if other have game on pc on the lan they you will get fooled and fetch it from there. ) alot of of difftent technic have change on the DL speed.

Steam was pushing 150Tbps for the Baldur's Gate 3. It was pushing 50Tbps per region, which is more than Steam does GLOBALLY on a normal day
