Usually keys for delisted games work and you can download and play the game. Multiplayer games that rely on another server to play the game may be unavailable.

Assuming the key is redeemable on Steam. Not all CD keys are. Some are keys for the game, but have nothing to do with Steam.

Right. Somehow I managed to read Steam key instead of cd key

Additionally, just because a game was on Steam, does not mean retail codes activate on Steam.
For example Ubisoft games activate on Ubisoft Connect, even if some games are available on Steam as well.

Or old pre-Steam Half-Life keys, they used to be valid, but no longer are.

Which is due to the publisher of those retail copies no longer being in business, so Valve can not verify their validity anymore.

Well if you try it and it works, the obvious answer is yes. If you try it and it fails, then the answer is no.

That would be an Origin / EA App key, not a Steam key (you won't find a Steam key for the remastered version for the same reason).

Indeed. Additionally, the only country where Burnout Paradise Remastered is not available is Russia.

Not sure if EA left redeeming product keys active for russian users.

If the key for steam, yes it will work even if the game no longer sold, or listed on Steam.

Please note game keys can only be used once period, there no transfer to another account, there no undo key, there no replacement key, once it used, it can't be used again.
