Steam 403 Forbidden Error
Heya! I'm not typically one to post on online forums for help, but after Support was wildly unhelpful in resolving this I don't really have any other options.

Basically some time a day or two ago I was trying to access the store to check the price of a game. The Steam client was just giving me a black screen, so I tried going there through a web browser.

Turns out that I "don't have permission to access "http://store.steampowered.com/" on this server". At this current moment I have to use a VPN in order to access any steam sites and services. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue, and if anyone knew of any possible fixes.

If more information is required I am happy to provide.

Fix you network VPN is not allowed, and sense steam is not a ISP, and have to pay taxes

and its not steam job to get you online,

all this is you and your ISP problem.

ps.
i can only say test with spare pc to figureout is it my pc or my ISP that sux big time.

this is as simple explantiopn to avoid long technical things you might not understand.

and we are not suppoprt either, vpn just proof you netcard is working or you wont get online and that say alot about the, you busted yourself , you need to be educated for understand this or have read about it how network works.

and be happy someone tell you this. this has nothing todo with me or my reply

other post mention its steam job to know and tax you , ( almost look like a alcapone case goverment pressure steam to fix its tax per country.

gl with why VPN is not allowed on steam.and maybe why they refuse to help.

this is a user forum, and i and other is not support either.

Okay look, I don't mean to come off rude, but if you had simply read my original post you could see I was not saying that steam "was my isp" or it's was "their job to get me online". I'm simply saying that from my troubleshooting and research it APPEARS like my IP has somehow been blacklisted.

And about VPNs not being allowed in steam, steam support would've said something about it to me. They just told me to ensure the VPN isn't the cause of the issue.

I'm also not trying to say y'all are support. I'm just trying to see if anyone else has experienced a similar issue, and if so how they fixed it if they ever did. And I know it's not the PC. Phone had the same issue. And it's not ISP has a HTTP 403 response means that the server understood your request but refused to fulfill it for one reason or another.

If you want to re-explain in more technical terms so I may understand it better, be my guest. However as far as I can tell, you are the one who doesn't understand what their talking about.

You agree that you will not use IP proxying or other methods to disguise the place of your residence, whether to circumvent geographical restrictions on game content, to order or purchase at pricing not applicable to your geography, or for any other purpose. If you do this, Valve may terminate your access to your Account.

Remember this you read when creating the account?
VPNs are explicitly forbidden.

I do see that. However I feel that if they actively enforced it wouldn't support mention it to me? I feel they probably only enforce it when it being used to mask location. I only use it because I physically have no other way to access steam services due to no fault or action of my own.

If I am proven wrong, I will accept that.

Even then that is just one part of what I said.

Also too add, as far as I can tell this explicit applies to using the VPN when making a purchase to alter your location to get games cheaper, bypass restrictions, etc. When taken out of context it can seem like VPNs are completely banned, but in context that is not the case.

Steam and Steam Error 403 issues come from missing or corrupt files, Windows registry invalid entries, and malware infections. In particular, Steam Error 403 problems originate through: Invalid Steam Error 403 or corrupted registry key. Steam Error 403 file corrupted from virus infection.

found on net , whatever security issue you have, is the problem. ( you are not cleared to enter )
i cant say if you are infected, or have access issue because you use VPN.
