Steam won’t launch on desktop
It's probably been mentioned somewhere else but I honestly can't find anything that can help. Everytime I try to open Steam, in the past week, on my desktop it shows the pop-up saying Steamwebhelper is not responding. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it with no changes to what's happening as well as clicking on each option on the pop-up with not success either. If anyone has any ideas, please share. 😅

I have the same issue. Tried so many things... uninstalling, resintalling, run as administrator, run with react disables, gpue disabled..... It is just totally broken.....

The only thing that worked for me was to create a new Windows Account on the same machine. I could launch steam.exe from there.

run memtest86 it's free and may show ram errors
Still happening - so annoying to not be able to use steam on my main windows account.

Is there any way to escalate or open a ticket with valve?

  1. Start Windows in "Safe Mode with Networking."
  2. Start Steam.
  3. Go to Steam Settings and select "Steam Beta Update" in Settings -> Interface -> "Client Beta Participation."
  4. Let Steam update. Exit Steam.
  5. Reboot Windows normally and try to start Steam.
