did you activate cloud save ? and next time do some manual backup to ;)

In the future you might use gamesave-manager. Cloud saves are great. A nice convenience. But they're not managed by you and anything can happen.

Always back up your important data yourself and put it somewhere you control. Otherwise you may experience this sort of pain again.

thats not a thing. if you have no saves in cloud they werent uploaded to begin with.

Dont mixup onedrive with steam cloud save they can both use same place.

A game devs use Document and wola , you have a issue with it then you uninstall a app.

You can find many post at steam that run into windows one drive issue.
its look like to many person here, that onedrive is write by ametures, how we know we learn this from past backup Solution there will be seen as master in how to do today.

if you compare in knowledge im not even sure amature sofware is rough enough, and we have a problem with steam policy chat if we use worse tone, point is even if i use it myself i have also seen things get delete and ask myslef did i just missunderstand something with delete my local files. with its cloud content, im sure im not the only one that get our coffie wrong in our throat. ( it look like this issue you did )

uninstall a game app has consequence. ( a ms sync or lack of understand wipe cloud content also effect local files. ) its both ways.

we other have seen burn out disk, so its not a steam issue as fare as i know, unless this is a new bug.

and we are back at you did uninstall it why will steam cloud not be deleted for each uninstalled game you did..

And as i said uninstal a steam game , why will it not remove a save game then game get deleted. ( you can ask steam for ask user shall i delete cloud save also. ( its same BS i have seen in MS onedrive. they just do it.

You can end with cloud save files never get removed. on your user.

I just reinstall fallout 1 , and wola cloud save was still there, so again things dont add up here. ( old save game got restored )

i can only tell you what i did , what is going on at your pc i do not know.

Feel free to ask steam support maybe they can tell you why this happend. or did steam change its way.

i dont want to read all the things app updates do and change, many tech person get enough of this per version build nr. ( its not a our job here as steam users. ) as it was in real support. for whatever company we work for.

Same as how few read windows update today, you need to work with it so it matter to you. most gamers here do not care until there is a issue with it.
