What pad do you have? Does that pad have any sort of video output?

Does that TV have any way to test for gamepad input? I'd like to kmow whether there's any functionality beyond being paired.

Nope, only BT and cable. Is there any other app on the TV that would use the gamepad?

In the meanwhile, Update the gamepad's firmware (which you can do form a PC or an XBox). I am not sure it'll help but it won't hurt and might help.
