How to quit a frozen full-screen game?
So a couple of times I have had issues in Portal 2 and Fallout, and when the game freezes it makes it impossible to use task manager. If you know a way out of this, please tell me.

Yeah, I've done that to get to task manager, but I can't close the game.

Yeah, I've done that to get to task manager, but I can't close the game.
What I normally do is use it to log off and hit cancel once the game is closed. I normally use this after I try the easier solutions though since it's a pain when I log back on and gotta boot up everything else

You could try Killprocess to kill the game.
http://orangelampsoftware.com/products_killprocess.php

I have found that Killprocess terminates apps much quicker than Windows Task Manager. Make sure to go into Tools - Preferences - General and enable vicious mode. Then just select a process and press the delete key and it's dead. No popups, questions, or slowness like in Task Manager.

If you keep a shortcut to it on your Windows taskbar you can press the windows key on your keyboard to jump to your taskbar while you are in most games and then just click the Killprocess icon to start it up.

On games that crash frequently I like to keep it running in the background so I can Alt+Tab to it if I have to.

That's a system lock-up. You have to reboot 99.9% of the time.

darn

Or to wait. Usually, the system reboots itself after a while during which it stores troubleshooting information for when you need it.

Dude, you're an absolute life saver. I have a metric ♥♥♥♥ ton of problems with Arma 3 just freezing the moment I get in a game (But I don't usually have that problem when i've been playing for a while, and I've never had it happen on another game). You just saved me the massive pain in the ass of completely shutting my computer down and restarting everything I had running.

Hmmm... Im playing gta v on a controller and sometimes when i mod the game simply freezes to a cutscene or the sound keeps repeating itself and i dont have keyboard/mouse at night so i downloaded ds4 windows to use my ps4 controller as mouse to play games but is there a app to make games auto shut down if they crash/freeze.

If you are on Windows 10, create a new Desktop and then open Task Manager and end it.

You can create a new desktop by clicking the button next to the Cortana button. (the rectangles with the line next to it).

Hope this helps.
