Steam vs Console?

Steam > Console for days. Does anyone think next gen consoles will effect PC gaming hugely? Thoughts.

best controller in the world hahaha. the only thing i like on the ps controller is the d-pad. wish it was on the xbox controller. its mainly for quick select on games. what i find funny on pc games now is a lot of peeps using 360 controller on steam and what will the sream box do to console gaming ? and do you think other make there own box like origin ? i wish just everything was on one dam thing.

Thank God that thing's compatible with the Windows Xb360 controller. Steam Link's definitely the bit I'm interested in, since I've got a computer halfway across the room from my TV. Starting to see why people love ITX's so much.

It seems that console gaming has affected pc gaming. Atleast what I heard about newest Batman game >.>
I myself don't have any ''favorite'' thing going on with the consoles or pc gaming. I'm more interested about the games.

''Which console is better'', or ''pc vs console'', is kind of pointless if the game sucks :P

there much more consoles out there than gaming PCs, so more an more games will developed for the consoles and ported to the PC. the quality and conplexity of games will be descending because the consoles are only a "weak kind" of PC

I think console is about to hit an iceberg like the Titanic, and they can choose to ignore it and the band can continue playing, but it's going to continue taking on water. I think the new generation coming out of school these days are very techinically inclined and each one after will be more so. More and more will desire the best graphics, the biggest screens, the best keyboards, the best mice, and so on. It's the customization that will eventually be the consoles downfall. We're dealing with people that will pay hundreds of dollars for skins, do you think they'll get their kid a console for Christmas? I'm thinking no. They're going to give their kid a new game, some upgrades to the old PC, and buy themselves a new one. Perhaps for no other reason than they don't really need the old one but it's still faster than anything being sold as new at Best Buy. The price to hook your kid up with all of this on a new console is ridiculous, and costs more than my first car.

I'll rarely if ever run into someone my age playing on PC, they grew up on consoles and that's just the way it is. They'll get a virus on their PC and have to call me every weekend so I don't even bother changing things. Meanwhile my daughter is about to turn 7. She loves gaming and she is welcome to choose any platform she wants. It's a no go on the console for her she loves the PC, hands down, and I honestly feel like it's a good tool for her to be accustomed with at the same time. She's already faster and better at problem solving than some of the people in my office. That's not saying a whole lot though some still type one finger at a time while searching for the key.

There are far more PCs out there than consoles. Most games don't need the highest end processors to run them. PC is the most popular platform for games after mobile phone.

I do think you can find great games to play regardless of your PC but there games with pretty much high system requirment's that I consider to hurt PC gaming popularity more then it's help it , lot's of peoples will get a PS3/PS4 instead of upgrading a PC because they won't have to worry about getting a new graphics cards or more ram if it's not because the CPU is too old.

The only real reason to buy consoles is for console exclusives.
The nice thing about steam games is that most modern laptops can run maybe 70% of the steam store's library.

With this in mind, you can play your steam games anywhere, anytime and also have stuff like microsoft word and other good stuff where consoles are cumbersome and space consuming to take with you on trips.

Excluding handhelds, PC game-ing > Console.
You can use USB plugins to play console ports with gamepads anyway.

i am a huge console fan, been a gamer most of my life and i am 43 now, all i can say is i converted to PC and miss my controller however, the games on PC run faster,better higher FPS Higher Pixel density, there is no comparrison, iam slowly getting used to the game pad and mouse and Macros, persist with PC go mid range for best performance value, then you will barly touch your xbox only for the exclusives
