In that case, isn't that what OnLive did?
I doubt it but I dont know OnLive. This just came out yesterday, announced at GDC. I was someone who felt that streaming a game from the cloud was not very viable but they were showing current AAA titles at 60 fps and good graphics. Impact wise its much more radical than the 'shield' they came out with last year
If Shield works properly, I could see a lot of appeal to people with low-end PCs. If it's only $300, that would pretty much mean modern gaming and maxxing out your games without the GTX 980.
its $200 :)
thing is, if what I saw watching the presentation is accurate I do think it will change gaming for everyone. Speaking for myself however I have very particular tastes in games AND I have been using a mouse and keyboard for more than 30 years so I would miss that.

I predict PC gaming will be around longer than consoles given this news.
I say that because PC gamers are serious business, console seems to be a bit more casual. I think a consoler player might be more likely to try this streaming thing than a PC gamer is. I know although I am excited for the tech I doubt I will actually buy one. Steam Machine however i might but only because I want a dedicated VR room :)
That's one of the problems with a dedicated gaming device... you don't get any of that.
cheers to that! agree 100%.
I now work from home and when I tell people how much I invest in my work station they go nuts and say 'just for work?'....nope, work is a side effect reason :)
When I see people working on a laptop using the thumb pad I just want to slap them.
It was that day I learned that trackpads are stupid. If you can't use a mousepad with your computer where you're going, use your knee. If you don't have a knee, use your face. If you break your nose trying to click down, well, you tried.
I guess thats what makes it valid for me - even if I bought a console, I would still need a high end Pc for work.
