Steam vs Console?

Steam > Console for days. Does anyone think next gen consoles will effect PC gaming hugely? Thoughts.

Gone are the days of console games running off disks and being 100% completed when released. These days most console games need to install on the hard drive, and more and more games being released with issues. Patching is as much an issue for consoles, and some are even released broken, like Sony's Drive Club. All the problems PC games suffered console games are encountering as well.

In the previous generations consoles had an advantage in game library, but towards the end the PC was catching up and this generation just about every big game is Multi-platform. With console exclusives a rarity these days you could happily play exclusively on a PC and miss very few games that only appear on consoles.

Any way I could go on all the other advantages PC has over consoles (its substantial) but I don't have all day. All I can say is if you prefer cheaper price and 'ease of use' to all those advantages, you can see why we use the word 'peasant' to describe you :B1:

I see you've once again laid out some stupid #pcmasterrace insult that's completely overused against me. Fun fact: My XB360's been collecting dust for over a year now, and the games I play are either GOG, Humble Bundle or Steam. Nowhere else.

I agree in that I prefer PC. The insults, though, to console users... that's just unncessary. Some people prefer it. I don't have much against WiiU/PS4, other than the keyboard and mouse not being there. Other people would say the opposite, that controllers are better-- and in some cases, yes, controllers are better for certain games. No need to be a ♥♥♥♥ about it.

large companies where the large money is with tools and people who could make an amazing game dont make amazing games,
Instead the try to slow progress down, leaving us with crappy imports of boring games or indie developer bugs.

You could always follow what I do and refuse to purchase Ubisoft/EA titles on PC. Leaving a dent in their market is one way to say "Your system's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken, fix it." Besides, PS4 has a share of great games on it-- Little Big Planet 3, Killzone, Infamous, Uncharted, The Last of Us... honestly, their lineup looks great and unlike their dumbass competitors (aka Microsoft), they haven't tried to milk every last cent out of their franchises but instead kept them going. Perhaps Shadow Fall could have been better, but it still was a good game nonetheless.

They also bought Pandemic then dropped them right after. I blame them for Battlefront 3 being in dev hell just to get picked up by DICE.

Another company they're beating down... DICE is involved in franchise-milking with what used to be Battlefield, but has turned into Field of Duty 6.

I am all for quality. When i pay money for a game i want it to look as well as it can, which is why i go for PCs. So do not misunderstand me, i definitelly value quality over the price. I was just disproving that forking guy's point that consoles are cheaper. As they aren't, in the long run the cost about the same and will need to be traded in for newer models just like PCs.

I have to agree with Kill-cam that the insults, even "friendly swipes", really aren't necessary. I mean, the term "console peasant" is overused and well past being funny.

This peasant talk does seem to annoy some peoplet. Yeah it probably is overused but its first time I've used it here.

Any way last time I checked it was a Steam vs Console thread so I don't know why anyone would be surprised 'PC Master Race' and Console peasants' would be used quite often. I am sure I won't be the last one to use 'that' term.

That is so clearly a joke, i don't see how anyone can be annoyed by it. Unless of course deep down they know consoles are inferior.
As far as exclusives i cosider them cheating, forcing people to buy a specific platform so that they can play a given game. Thus creating a false sense of consoles being better because they have these games. This kind of practice more than anything else alienates me from consoles.
