Steam vs Console?
Steam > Console for days. Does anyone think next gen consoles will effect PC gaming hugely? Thoughts.

That's right, pay half the price of a PC for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ overrated games that have been stretched from console-selling exclusives to yearly money grabs on a console that takes the EA route of DRM systems even on disc! So much fun!

No, ♥♥♥♥ that. I have a computer with a Pentium and I'm letting my X360 collect dust. Also, Steam doesn't charge a monthly fee to give you more than Micro$oft and Sony do.

The only console I could see myself getting is a Wii-U... maybe. And it would only be for Hyrule Warriors and the new Super Smash Bros.
i suggest u throw your pentium off the windows ,because it is a ♥♥♥♥ ,because many i5 haswell almostly outdated and retired ...
I'll upgrade soon. Just proving a point here-- if this ToasterTron 9000 is more fun than a console, I'm calling ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on how people love them so much.

In my opinion i believe that pc is infact the best. Many because you don't have to go out and buy games, you can buy them from home. Also you can do SO much more with a pc...There are downloads everywhere like free games, free dlc, and much more that make my gaming experiance that much better.

Nawh whats the best is having the best of both worlds as in both PC and Consoles the wider choice of fun. I don't care what I am gaming on today it beats the fecking binatone tv master systems and ZX80 of back in the day yay.

Consoles WERE good in their own respect. WERE.

Wii-U, maybe. PS4, eh. XB1? Bad joke.
Mac? Slightly better than XB1. Slightly.

Thing is, PC's always been better. The big selling point of consoles was their couch co-op. Now that games aren't even optimized well enough for 1 player, those days are over and you'd have a better time playing PC with wired controllers. Oh the irony.

Oh the irony is

PC=20fps=20lb=junk yard
When you do some configuring, a Pentium can run things better than an Xbox 360 usually can.

On the other hand, you can buy games for so cheap on PC that it's like you've already got the value you were going to sell it for. Unless you can convince someone to pay you 75% of the original purchase price of used console disk...
many cheap games also avai.on xbox live, psn same as steam
also many cheap games may not compatible or not optimzed on future OS
like fallout 3 is not optimzed on windows 7 ,8..etc

Pretty much this. Consoles were great if you just wanted to slot in a disk and play the damn game with zero hassle, at the convenience of your living room with some buddies. Over time though, they adopted the faults of PC's (Extra DRM, patches, faffing around with hardware, etc.) while PC's adopted the conveniences of consoles (most games are install-and-play, controller/TV support, etc).

I believe Jim Sterling made an entire video about it.

1. True, I'm just pointing out you can't claim trade-ins as a benefit when you can purchase at bargain-bin prices in the first place, on any of the platforms.

2. The difference is that games on PCs can be made to work, even if they're well past they point of plug-and-play on modern technology. Can't get X ancient PC game working? Download a user-made patch and you're good to go. Can't get X ancient console game working on your fancy new console? Sorry, you're screwed.

Sorry dude, but if you're going to try and argue consoles are superior, you DON'T want to start bringing up backwards compatibility. Consoles have their benefits, but that point is NOT in their favor.

1.same as hardware,if you used once, then you wanna to sell it ,you must downgrade % to get the money back,(not profit) meaning lost $$$
if you buy a digital game for $59.99 (for ex.AC4) on steam vs if you buy the same on xbox live, psn at $69.99,then you can´t sell to another buyer either on both platform (pc-steam,xbox one,360 - xbox live,ps3,4 - psn) due to bundle with your account
2.if you buy the same game (AC4) in physical condition, then you can sell your AC4 console version at dicount price ,you lost not much vs you can´t sell it on steam due to the cdkey is for only first gamer that did active),you lost entire
so console platform has much vantage than pc steam
3.many pc gamers are not experts to resolver issues of the game they purchased,
they wanna a good ,fast and easy stuff (mostly patches) from game company to resolver their issues..
meaning there will be more troubles in pc games

pc is a tool for working ,for creating games on consoles

sorry mate,i dun´t consider pc is a master race

1.& 2. I already covered these points. The games are already cheaper so you're practically getting the trade-in value up front.

It doesn't really matter than you can sell the games later if you're paying through the nose to get them in the first place

3. I said OLD games require a little fiddling to get running, if any (sites like GoG.com will do the compatibility tinkering for you, as a matter of fact). The vast majority of the new ones that work the moment they're installed and get automated patches from the developers.

PC games are practically just as much plug-and-play as consoles. And even if an OLD game causes problems, you don't even have to know anything about computers to get it running.

as you said pc games have several troubls and also i mention again that pc games are expensive,

Why even bother with that guy... let him wait around for months for a proper console sale, where he has to buy plus to get a fair discount, Or those lovely "free" playstation plus games that disappear if you let your service expire... All because buying a horrible pc that still can play games at a reduced resolution doesn't seem feasible, though if someone bought any entry level pc with enough graphics ram and speed and kept the drivers current he could still play some of the best games for nothing provided people don't eat up the useless hype and actually wait for a sale that happens at least four times a month.

Dont worry ppl i will read that wall of text eventually...

75% off 1 game per every so often most of which im sure only 5% of the steam will buy
I'v gotten 3 bundles ever and 1 of them was half life 2 for the mods/conversions/what evers

Its like going to home depo/lowes/ace hardware and saying they are better because they sell cheaper drills.Only 5% of people going to those stores are going to buy a drill
