Internet keeps crashing while downloading or updating a game.
Hello,

I have been searching for answers on my problem for a very long time now but so far I have been unable to find a solution for my problem.
The problem is, when I try to download/update a game for steam my internet seems to say "NOPE that is not what I want" then I have to reset my router like 10 times before the game is fully downloaded.
I must say, I used to have it for some other games aswell but when I turned off the "allow torrents" or something like that it seemed to work fine only I can't find that on steam so that is a bit.. meh.

I am already using a throttling limit of 10mb/s while I have 150 mb/s wired internet speed.
And my router is a Sitecom X6 N900. So that shouldn't be the problem eighter.

I hope anyone can help me.

Cheers, Paté

Can you download large files outside of steam games?
Yes, I have downloaded multiple games outside steam (games on origin example) i never have problems with that
So, This means: or bumping doesn't work. Or my problem is unable to be solved...
I had this problem happen on my wife's gaming laptop w/ a wireless connection. She has a Killer Wireless adapter in her laptop, and it turned out to be a Killer Networking service running at startup that was dropping the internet connection on the laptop when steam was downloading an update or a game. No setting in Steam fixed this issue like everyone suggests.
What I did:
-Click Windows Start button
-type "msconfig" in Windows Search
-Go to "Services" tab
-Check "Hide all Microsoft Services" (Just so this service is easier to find)
-Find the service "Killer Service V2" by Rivet Network & Un-Check it
-Hit Apply & OK
-Reboot
Now try the download again. This will of course only work if you have a Killer Wireless Adapter, since it's this service that was killing the internet connection on this device. But it may be worthwhile to look for a similar service for a different network adapter and try disabling it to see if that resolves the issue.
Thanks!
Same problem recently started here too, did you find the issue?
Same problem, and on WiFi and not on WiFi between 2 gaming pc's 2 gaming laptops and a regular laptop only with steam, origin, epic and blizzard are all fine. Can't find a solution. I'm betting its my router as I can go on others WiFi and it doesn't crash the internet.
Sounds like Poisen revesed a IT-network term, ask own ISP if you dont know how to update router software and netcard driver and and check cable's.

wifi most have anttena today, those without is seen as weak signal.
