Can't play pinball games!

I joined Steam in order to play my granddaughter's games. We both use this computer, and she has downloaded all her games on this computer, and we each have a side. All games are available to me except the Pinball Arcade.

Apparently I'm supposed to pay for all seasons again, even though they're all already downloaded on this computer! What??? Is this a scam? Am I being ripped off?

The help says, dlc could be shared if you dont own the game.

Its possible that when you add pinball to your library before family sharing, that you own the game. And so you couldnt share dlc anymore.

Anyway, this is the point. Steam was very nice to add family sharing in the first place, it works across computers and the internet and is damn good and useful but it has it's limits.

Is it that bad that you have to spend money to play the pinball tables? I understand if you misunderstood how it works, its not very clear. But this is how it is, go to the forums i linked above and suggest stuff but don't start tossing words like scam around.

You don't own skyrim, you own the base for pinball arcade however. It is free. You can download the client and test the tables for free i guess?

Just don't act like this is a new or weird thing, you are buying licenses. they have restrictions.

Not for any other game except pinball arcade, it seems.

You don't expect two people being able to go to the cinema for free just if one of them already has seen the movie right?

What does that have to do with having to download the same game twice?

If you get shown on a leaderboard, the game has something like an account......

Its not about loading twice.

Last step to make sure how it is with this game:
Try to share it with an account that never played it before.

Actually, nobody buys any of the games, we rent them for a single payment and Steam retains ownership.

It's not about downloads, each account has to allow computers and accounts to use their games if they want to. Digital rights.
Files are often useless without steam knowing you are allowed to use them.

There are way more, but this is a "dlc of a game you already own"-issue as stated before.

I think it was a pretty good analogy, better then you comparing it to a scam?
Downloads doesn't matter, in the same way that it doesn't matter that you where at the cinema yesterday, you still have to pay the next day.

That's not the case. I've played it on my granddaughter's side of the computer frequently. And I can play all her other games on my side of the computer, so you're not quite making sense.

Ok, more simple:
Everyone "owns" free to play games...... Owned games can not play others dlc anymore.

You can remove free to play games from your account. No idea if it solves the dlc issue but you can give it a try.

Go to:
https://store.steampowered.com/account/
and click on "remove" to the right of the game. You just removed the free to play title from your library, retry to play the family shared game (including the DLC). Good luck :)

Unfortunately, simply having a free-to-play game installed on the PC when you open Steam adds it back to your account, to the best of my knowledge. I repeatedly tried to remove Everlasting Summer from my alt account, but as long as it was installed, it kept getting added back.
