Question about Steam online gaming data usage.
So I need some help. I recently just got a 700GB data cap on my internet, and I was wondering how much data Steam uses to game online with friends.

You see my and my friend don't play every single day, but we do play often. Our usually gaming time is 2-4 hours, sometimes more. Everytime we play we voice chat using steam (i'm too lazy to press a button to talk).

To sum it up i'm wondering how much data is used when I game with my friend for 2-4 hours while voice chatting on Steam. Oh, and also in those rare times when we game for like half a day.

Thanks~

It all depends on the game, but likely you'll have plenty with a 700GB data cap.

Most of the bandwidth is just getting the game itself. Even if you play MP CSGO 24/7 you will transfer less data than probably a single streaming HD movie. Games in MP are designed not to require that much data to transmit simly due to latency and other factors.

If you have 700GB that is VERY generous. I'm surprised any provider offers something that high.

Do you mean 700MB perhaps?
