"DirectX Encountered an Unrecoverable Error" All Fixes 2015
Many people including me had/has this error when running a game, and here are several fixes.

FIX 1:

1. Press Windows + P
2. Select "PC Screen Only"
This will shut of your other monitor if you have one, if you only have one monitor or it is already selected skip this fix.

FIX 2:

1. Go to your Video Drivers download center, whether its Intel, NVIDIA, or AMD.
2. Make sure you have the most recent video/sound drivers.
This will be sure that your drivers are up to date, and this is not the problem.

FIX 3:

1. Go to the following link: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/bg162891.aspx
2. Download
3. Go to Search, and type "dxcpl".
4. Select the first one
5. Select "Edit List"
6. Locate your games .exe file by going to /Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/<GAME> and select it
7. Click "Apply" and exit window.
This is changing the DirectX config file to run your game.

FIX 4:

1. Search "Can You Run It" in your internet Browser
2. Be sure you can run the game you are trying to run
Make sure you meet the minimum PC specs before running buying the game.

FIX 5:

1. Right click your desktop
2. Select "Make text and other items smaller or larger"
3. Slide the slider all the way to the left, or to smaller.
4. Reboot your PC
This is a possible fix for DirectX, but doesn't fix the error often.

FIX 6:

1. Go to the following link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=35
2. Download
3. Run the installer
This will reinstall DirectX, this can fix your problem.

FIX 7:

1. Locate your game exe file: /Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/<GAME>/
2. Right click and select "Properties".
3. Go to the "Compatibility" tab.
4. Check the box that says: "Disable display scaling on high DPI"
5. Click apply and exit.
This will disable display scaling on High DPI.

FIX 8:

1. Check your graphics driver for any errors.
This is not really a fix, but usually graphics drivers are the cause of this error.

IF ALL FAILS: (Worked for Me)

1. Shut down your PC
2. Rapidly press F11 as it is booting up. It should bring you to a menu.
3. Select "Troubleshooting".
4. Select "PC Refresh".
5. Follow the PC Refresh wizard.
WARNING: This will remove all of your programs, it will keep your files. If you have many paid programs, this is not recommended.
