Recovering Deleted Threads
So one of the mods in a group I run went a litty cookoo, and started deleting stuff. Anyone know if I can contact Steam support, or if there's any way to get these threads back?

Anyone? This seems to be getting flooded out, and it's a rather important problem.

If the threads are soft deleted then you should see them as the owner... If the threads were permanently then they cannot be recovered.

I only gave permission for officers to delete comments at all though, why was a moderator able to permanently delete threads?

(Thanks for responding <3 )

Is the issue comments or discussions posts being deleted? Those are different things.

It's threads on the forums. I'm guessing that the comment deleted privledges doesn't extend to the forums?

Moderators and officers get delete thread permissions on the forum. It just comes default cause it's a role of a moderator. Don't make someone a moderator if you don't want them doing this.

In any case, if you are the group owner and cannot see the deleted thread in question, then it's gone forever.

That's a real pitty, if there's nothing that can be done, I guess I should just thank you for your time.

What can be done is going forward only choose responsible moderators. You can at least prevent this from reoccurring. :steamfacepalm:

I could permanently delete every thread in this forum if I wanted to. But I don't want to and it's not something I would do anyway.

It was a friend who insisted on making him a moderator, that's why I'm so bothered by there being no way to undo it, I have a bit of a more serious/private issue that I need to talk about, may I add you?

I only talk through the forums. Either post here or contact support. Thanks.
