Steam browser virus
I got a very bad steam browser virus that redirects me (It's not only steam Firefox and IE too) and can't be fully detected for some reason (probably because it seemed to infect Java) so I decided to format my computer, make a clean instal and only made a backup of my steam game Pes 2015 so what I wan't to ask is ....

If I instal steam now and put my Pro evolution 2015 saves back to my clean computer ,will the virus come back or is there no chance that the virus could of spread to my saved games.

(my saves were in Documents-Konami-Pro Evolution soccer 2015 folder)

Because the last thing I want to do is bring the virus back XD

Did you scan with malware bytes or an antivirus?

Format & installing clean will make the virus disappear. Just don't execute any program that was on your PC before, download everything afresh.

Scan with an antivirus, plenty of free ones, do a boot time scan to be 100% effective.

thank you for responses :) Yes I scanned with malvarebytes and The virus was comming back every few days even after delete so I completely formated the drive (about a month ago) and made a clean instal and now the viruses are all gone and don't come back (all clean), but my save backup is on a DVD which I made backuup before formatting so the question is ... does anyone think that the virus could of infected the save file?

thanks for response, I allready did format because it seemed to be the best option and I'm just planning to download the games fresh like you said :) but there's no chance that the virus could come back if I install the steam onto the computer that used to be infected right? what do you think? :) I'm just worried that the virus could of got too deep within steam but I'm sure it shouldn't since I have a clean install right?

Viruses usually infect *.exe files. A browser hijacker should not do that. But to be 100% sure, just check that DVD with a virus scanner/malwarebyte.

Downloading games from Steam and game-saves from the Steam Cloud should be safe. If you coppy/pasted back-ups from your computer to a portable, there's always a chance that the virus copied itself there too.
