Kicked off Steam and now stuck in offline mode
I was playing Arma 3 & talking to a friend on Steam and all of the sudden my Steam just disconnected and I cannot log back in. Every time I try I just get a message that says "Could not connect to the Steam network" and I have options to Retry Connection or Start in Offline Mode. I have retried the connection half a dozen times, restarted both my computer & my entire network and still can't login. Any suggestions?

Well, how did you post this? If you couldn't get online?

Because I am logged into steamcommunity.com through my browser..

Ah. Well, I had this issue too literally like five seconds ago, Steam does this sometimes. It lasts for a couple minutes, then it recovers connection. Check again, it regained connection for me.

i just logged in to steam now and i had the same problem as you and i just clicked on retry connect then i was online

The same thing just happened to me,I tried to run it through compatibility mode,tried running it as a administrator,even tried my game shortcuts on my desktop,and I tried putting it in offline then online mode,nothing worked.



I was on the forums when it happened,except I could still see the store and the discussion I was on,even though it said no connection.

EDIT: Now my Steam shortcut won't even work...

I am having the same problem, been upwards of an hour now. Done a couple restarts and all, still cannot get on steam stuck in offline mode.

Can we please have a fix to this... fun being corralled into a game house that goes offline frequently like this for no bloody reason.

edit: now its just stuck searching for network.
