On my old pc i have rome total war 2 and since its a 25gb download i dont want to waste so much of my wifi as its limited. it is on my old comp and can someone suggest a way to transfer it. I also have the game disc but my new pc doesnt have a dvd drive so please tell me if there are any alternative ways of installing the game where i dont have to download it.

@Terminator - You could copy the files over to the new PC via FTP, zipping the folder, or a few alternate ways. You'll want to browse to Total War 2's installed path on your older PC, copy/zip/etc the files, transfer them to your new PC, and put the folder in your Steam's installation directory path, which is typically C:\Program Files\Steam\ -> steamapps\common\_folderhere_

Once completed, you'll find the said game in your Steam library, and if it isn't installed - install it ensuring you're using the true path, and it'll update if needed and be ready without needing to download all the files you've transferred.

You got a USB flash drive—or, God forbid, your brand-new PC lacks a USB port, too. :NONPLUSSED_CREEP:

You'll want to make sure you're pasting the files into the correct directory that the specific game is using. A way of finding out, is by right click on the game in your Steam Library, clicking Properties, clicking the Local Files tab, then "Browse local files..."
Yup i did that but when i click install steam changes it from a 25gb file to a 400 mb one and starts downloading a 12.5 gb file
It usually says its downloading the full size but if you look a the completion it have something like 12.1GB/12.5GB downloaded.
it says 3.6/12.5 when the game is fully updated on my other comp
Just out of interest whats the game?
Sorry stupid question.
Does your other computer TF2 and the other game? If so you can copy the entire Steam directory across to your new computer and run it from there.
no it doesnt have tf2 or cs go
Try copying the Steam directory from the old comp onto the new and copy the TF2 and the other game into the SteamApps/Common _GameName_ folder.
Make sure you backup first.
Guys I Deleted all the existing total war data from my comp and then copied it from my old comp again into the common folder and opened steam and i clicked install. It discovered existing files and then downloaded like 10mb and started to work
Thanks for all the responses :D :steamhappy:
