How Long Does It Take Steam To Unlock A Voluntarily Locked Account?
A little over two weeks ago - while I was on vacation - I got an email from Steam on my phone that someone in the Ukraine was trying to gain unauthorized access to my steam accounts. In the email, Steam gave me the option to temporarily block the account to avoid any hacking shenanigans. At the time, I was quite appreciative that Steam was looking out for me. Although it did disable my account, I was happy that I avoided any unauthorized access.

After I got home, I did as instructed and submitted a Steam Support ticket and provided them with the information requested to unlock my account. It has now been 2 weeks since I did so and I have received no response from Steam Support. I'm not complaining as much as I am worried that something went wrong and my support ticket is lost somewhere in the Internet ether. Is it common to wait more than 2 weeks to resolve a voluntary account lock? I figure they have a queue of support tickets and that I am just waiting in line until they get to me - which is cool. But more than 2 weeks seems excessive.

While this is the first time that this has happened to me, I am sure that this has happened to someone before. If anyone has been through this process , could you please give me a heads up on how long it normally takes to complete and unlock my account. Should I submit a new ticket or just continue to wait it out?

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!

Support can take 5+ weeks to respond unfortunately so just continue waiting. Don't close your existing ticket or create a new one as you're currently in a queue system. Your ticket will eventually be answered though.
^ Thanks for the response! That makes me feel better. My biggest concern is that I somehow did something wrong. I did get the auto-reply from the ticket and can access it on the Steam Support site. I have just not received any actual human response. I will continue to wait it out.
Please tell me that you managed to get your issue resolved...

A friend of mine and I (mostly me, dragged him along) panicked during Steam's Christmas Sale and locked our accounts on Christmas Day, trying to recover our accounts back was a nightmare. I managed to get mine to work but we only just found out that my friend's hasn't and we're in the process of trying to fix that nightmare.

You just have to prove ownership on the account

You just have to prove ownership on the account

Is there a way to do that without having to deal with submitting a helpdesk ticket to steam support? Because if so, that's the option I was hoping to avoid.

How woudl you prove ownership without sending a ticket? You have to prove you own the account. You locked it so previous methodologies are no longer valid
