Hacked/Steam Support Ticket
Hello,
I know there have been multiple threads about this and I'm not sure if this can help at all. But I just wanted to know if there's any chance for me to get my steam account back at all.
I'm seeing that the person that hacked me is still in my friend's list for this account and has logged in recently. I have had no responses from steam support for the ticket I filed 2 weeks ago. I'm just losing hope and am saddened by this as I only game from one machine and avoid anything remotely similar to phishing.
I really just want my account back along with all the games that I have. I don't even care about the DotA 2 items that seem to be missing from the account. I just want to be able to play my games again and I'm seriously losing hope. I'm not a rich person and I don't have enough funds to just build another library again out of the blue. There are also a bunch of games that I haven't played yet. I've already supplied keys and proof(receipts) that I own the account. I just really hope that someone responds and if I ever get a chance to play my beloved games again or just straight up give up and just I don't know. :(

Do whatever you've not done yet,

  1. Secure your computer
Scan the computer with an antivirus* & antimalware scan in safemode
    1. First download & install Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware at http://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam/
    2. After that restart your computer
    3. During the time the computer is still booting up, tap F8 until you get to this menu[pad3.whstatic.com] <- clickable.
    4. Choose Safe Mode.
    5. Perform your antivirus & antimalware scans (with the rootkit scan ticked.)
    6. Restart your computer.
    * = If you can do a bootscan with your antivirus, do it.

  2. Change your passwords

  3. Include these in Steam Support ticket

  4. Read this

As long as your ticket is open, you're in the queue.

Thank you very much for the response. I can't change my passwords because the hacker changed the email associated with my steam account. I really have no way of retrieving it other than filing the ticket. But I did change the password for the email that used to be associated with the said account. I also have receipts from steam in the email which also indicated my steam username. I am hoping that these are enough for proof of ownership.

Yes, my ticket is still open. So does that mean I will eventually get my steam account back? I truly miss playing my games. How long does it usually take? I've seen people have their accounts back within days of filing the ticket and some say it takes them months. I just really hope steam gets this resolved I want to be very patient with this as I did invest hard earned money.

So does this mean I can get my account back soon? :)

hopefully yes :)

I've really yet to receive any responses from steam support. I'm really sad. I've already supplied the necessary things to provide proof of ownership. And I can supply more proof if they need it. I really just hope for a response. :(

My account was hijacked in 2013 and sold to somebody on some hack website for $10. It took steam 3 months to give me back my account and items.

Thank you for giving me hope. Well I really just hope my account gets returned to me. I don't even mind if the items don't get returned. I just want my account back. I miss playing my games.

I'm really starting to lose faith in steam support. I've already supplied the requirements that they needed. But I've yet to receive any response. Not a single word and it's been more than a month now. :(
