Video playback for game trailers stutter and/or freeze.
This has been happening to me for a while, but the video that plays the trailers for the game when you are in the specific games page, it either freezes on me or stutters. What i have noticed is when the loading bar does not fill up when the video is paused. When the video is playing, it barely keeps in front of the progression bar, then ultimately freezes or stutters it's way to the end. I have a 25Mbps D/l speed so i should not be experiancing any kind of lag, i never do with netflix. Please help.

That's how that video player works, it does not buffer fully. Tonight I'm back to getting horrible performance but it could be because there is a thunderstorm in the area. In fact I hope that is why. :(

.....

This worked splendidly for me! Thought I would pass it along.

This guys reddit post has made Steam store load tons faster and the game trailers work small or fullscreen. :)

Create a steam shortcut to desktop.
Right click it and go to it's properties.
In the "Target" field add " -tcp" after the path so it looks something like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -tcp
Run steam using this shortcut.
Profit!?

....

Unfortunately tonight the fullscreen videos just freeze and the small ones are stuttering horribly.

there is an issue with the video player due to an incorrect patch instal.
close steam altogher.
delete everything in the appcache folder
reopen steam.
It will update and you should be good to go, so far I'm 2/2 with this method today, every person who has tried it has gone away happy.

This didn't work alone, but I combined it with other methods in http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/541907867773537340/#c364040166680767043

Holy moly, deleting appcache did the trick! Always wondered why I would literally have to wait atleast a minute for a video to even start playing with a 5MB/s download speed.
Much appreciated freind :D
