Steam Browser, deleting Cookies ??
Hello

I was starting Company of Heroes 2 yesterday and was going to "read more" about the factions. The button opened Steam overlay & browser and led me to the CoH2 webside where I had to confirm my age. I clicked to fast and now I may not read the page because of age.

The page tells me that the age_pass is stored in a cookie.

I am using Firefox as favorite browser on my windows machine. So I have:

- Firefox ( standard profile )
- Firefox ( personal profile by using -profile tag in desktop link )
- Internet Explorer

I have started all of these browsers / profiles.. went to options.. deleted the histories at all ( including cookies ).

I was searching files of hd C to find all unneeded Firefox stuff. Firefox is installed to D but it always stored basic stuff and standard profile to C. I have deleted all Firefox files & folders from C.

I went into Steam folders and deleted the appcache/httpcache.. hoping that there are cookies stored.

But the page still tell me that age_pass is still stored in a cookie and don't let me read the page.

Any ideas??

Where are the cookies from Steam browser?

Greetings

Additional to that: I was visiting the page in my normal browser now.. succeeded the age_pass.. and found the ( new ) cookies in options now. Three cookies.. one with each day, month, year. I could delete them and had to pass the age question again. But this is also not helpful with the Steam problem.

Still need to know where Steam is saving the cookies.

You have to delete cookies from the Steam settings. STEAM SETTINGS.

Oh man. You, sir, saved my life! I was never thinking about the Steam settings.

Thank you so much!

You gotta admint that deleting Firefox cookies and other stuff isn't exactly logical if you want to delete them in Steam ;)

Steam is or was using Internet Explorer or at least the favorite browser installed on the machine.

I was searching the Steam forums before posting and I found a lot of "solutions" saying "Delete the cookies in your normal / fav browsers. Steam are using them". That's why I gave it a try.

Steam was using IE literally years ago. LITERALLY.
And no, Steam can't use your favorite browser. It's technically not possible. Ok, it is sorta possible but it's bloody incredibly hard to include all possibilities and it's not worth it.
And yeah, looks like there are alot of stupid people on the Steam forum.
