I can play with a controller, but not the mouse...
It feels the cursor is between the game and desktop, idk how to explain
Or once the game has loaded to the main menu area; try ALT+TAB back to Desktop and then click the game again from Taskbar. If ALT+TAB doesn't work (as some games don't allow it) try CTRL+ALT+DEL > Task Manager, then click the game.
Ensure OS features like MouseKeys and StickyKeys are disabled. As in FPS games often u need to press SHIFT key alot; pressing that 5-times-fast will prompt u about StickyKeys.
Laptops often have non-standard layouts for the Keyboard; that might mean that by default the laptop keyboard's F keys are not actually F keys until used in-conjuction with Fn key. Also the Desktop would often be revealed if u press the Windows Key too.
Your a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hero man. Finally a definitive solution.
I had like 20 programs running there
