Inconsistent ping?

I have a 5 mb/second wired internet connection, and when I play games online, my ping is VERY inconsistent. One day I will get 20 ping, the next day I get 400+ ping.

What do I do ?

This is the throghoutput, not the latency. Those are two entirely different values.

I wasn't aware of this.

I don't know the information of the router, etc.
Guess I'll have to buy my own again

Go with DSL, its the best for private households.

first thing to check if any of the computers in your network are not using all the internet.

just have one computer on than check if you do not have any programs running using internet and do speed tests.

if the ping is good check the other devices in your network.
