The Sims 3 Mod Issues

My issue is fixed, but I don't know what caused it. Hopefully someone here does. So here we go.


I don't expect an answer right away nor do I know if this is the right place to be asking, considering Sims 4 is out, but I read some people still play the second one, so surely, someone here can provide insight.

I use a...I suppose it's somewhat heavily modded, but kinda-not-really game. I use Twallen's ( I believe that's his name? ) mods. Error Trap, Overwatch, Master Controller, Woohooer, and Story Progression. I am mentioning these mods because I feel like they had something to do with my earlier problem.

So this is the issue. My Sim invites this girl he met through Day Spa's Matchmaking and she comes over. I used some friendly interactions, then I look for the romance ones. There are NONE. Just GONE. Literally GONE. I don't know how or why, but they were suddenly just GONE. No Romance tab on the menu, just nothing. It's like something flipped a switch and my Sim was suddenly not into women anymore. ( I don't know if I was able to use the interactions still on men. )


Now I made my Sim extremely attractive. He's got the "Attractive" LTR, the "Master of Seduction" LTR, the "Eye Candy" LTR, and perhaps another that escapes me at the moment, but basically, I can romance any female sim on the spot. He even looks attractive. ( At least, I've been told he does... )

I could romance any girl, just walk up to them, flirt, and then I pull a "Barney".

Until a couple hours ago. It's fixed, but I don't know what caused it, as I've mentioned.


Sometimes I run into Sims who cannot be romanced. So I went through NRass and checked to see if she was. And she was. I checked on Sims I've romanced before and the interactions STILL did not appear on the menu.


I also checked the User Directed settings. I read that if they were set to "True", they can cause the tab to disappear. They were "False".


Jealously is set to "None", as well. I use settings and a mod to ensure I don't get accused of cheating.

Luckily, I kept back ups and when I switched to that, I could romance again. But I did lose some progress, not too much, but some...


TL:DR: ( It's recommended you read the entire thing, however... )
Romance interactions would not show up in the interaction menu. Meaning I could not engage in any romantic activites with ANYONE. It's fixed, but why did this happen and how do I prevent it? Could anyone please provide some thoughts? Any at all would be appreciated.

EDIT: I feel like it had something to do with ErrorTrap. When I had that mod, unusual bugs were appearing in my game. I'm not sure if the romance tab disappearing had anything to do with that mod, but sometimes Sims would suddenly disappear and reappear someplace else. And I had, what looked to be some graphical glitch, this unusual, round hole in my floor appeared...

It's odd, I thought ErrorTrap was supposed to PREVENT stuff like that from happening...I'm really confused right now.


I probably should go to the mod's forum for insight on this, but I feel like it's inactive since Sims 3 is somewhat old now, so...Steam it is.
