HELP!!! Hacker stole my account and is threatening to delete it.

Hello.

I was a massive idiot and fell for the "accidently reported you for fraud" discord scam and the hacker is threatening to delete my account unless I fork over several thousand dollars. I can't get back in because he reset the password and he probably did so with my email.

I contacted steam support but he's only given me 24 hours to respond before he proceeds with deleting my account. And I'm nervous steam support won't be able to help in time or worse case scenerio at all.

Is there anything else I can do to get my account back? is all hope lost?

Also, what kind of damage can he do to my games and inventory? is any of it recoverable?

It takes a month to delete an account. Just work with support and get your account back. Stop communicating with the scammer.

How long does support usually take to respond? I want to get my account back as soon as possible.

I gave steam support the last 4 digits of my credit card too. should I change that as well or wait for this to be fixed? I don't know if the hacker has access to that.

There's not much you can do with the last 2 or 4 digits of a CC. There's no way for a user to view the full credit card number, even on their own account. Cancel your card if you're worried about fraud, but you can handle that at nearly any point.
