so somehow you might use onboard intel gpu by mistake and not the Nvidia GPU even that could be the case why it thoughouy that code.
i assume you once had game requirement because it once worked, so have the made a DLC that upgrade it, or did you somehow change something, dont forget Full performance , ( even that can explan lack of resource on that laptop and why it now do that code.
Full performance is not a joke some laptop get caught in the middle with intel boost and not highend game requrements
I am using a Legion 5 Pro with RTX 3060, so I don't think GPU is an issue, and I am pretty sure that Nvidia is the default and I have not changed the default settings. Also, I have not downloaded any mods for DRG so I do not know what is the issue now...
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 7 64 Bit
Processor: 2.4 GHz Dual Core
Memory: 6 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5770 /w 1GB VRAM
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 1 GB available space
RECOMMENDED:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 10 64 Bit
Processor: 2.4 GHz Quad Core
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: 1 GB NVIDIA 970 / AMD Radeon 290
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 1 GB available space
seem to be all you need ( Processor: 2.4 GHz Quad Core ) assume the other is not a issue at all. ram and GPU card, most older latop should have no issue play this even on minimum game requirements.
steam do have steam common redistributable files update all the time, thats why i use MS own support page.
ask game devs own support, maybe they know better or should i said should know.
if you google that code you will see alot about VC+++ issue afaik.
My specs are as shown below, not really a techie but I am pretty sure that my laptop is way overspecced and is able to handle DRG:
OS: Windows 10
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics, 3201 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)
Memory: 16GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU
DirectX: DirectX version 12
Storage: 207GB available space
and ofc you have nvidia driver installed, dont get angry , you are not the first user tht might have forgot to DL from Nvidia own Driver app or page.
most know this and why such is not asked, but you are past that.
Graphics Capabilities
Graphics Model
AMD Radeon™ Graphics
and not the Nvidia card
i google the "AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics, 3201 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical"
and you have onboard GPU also maybe that could explan why game look at wrong card.
Yup I have checked the settings before while I could still run the game, it was pointing towards the Nvidia grapics card so I am sure it is not the issue with the graphics card.
Yes, I have already tried this, in fact did this step more than 3 times and it still does not work. I might just try it one more time tonight to see if it works if other solutions do not work for me.
Yup I have done that already, pretty much all the solutions that I can find using Google has been attempted, with no visible results. Still have the same error.
those error code has been seen by many diffrent user even on EA boards, and most of them is VC+++ issue. and code is a MS crash code, and we dont have them error codes book.
imo, that user reply from a user that has no clue with what cause this on MS forum.
you dont need VC+++ files then you dont game, here you do.
you cant get a game to work if Thirdpart app is broken, VC+++ is extension of good old vcruntime140 whatever version to even older games.
this is not because i said so, its been that way sense DirectX and previous system OS.
try click the game.exe in the steam install location, and see if that trigger a better crash msg or same, i bet its same and i still think its VC+++ issue.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
Deep Rock Galactic
ask other thats has that game in that game forum, if its a old VC+++ you need
or check game folder with it redist folder if such is made.
uberfiend can be right in just a code with broken software, see so many things point in all direction with them code, but it dont explan with what, and maybe thast the problem here.
feel free to check system. ( off topic ) ( cmd box with run as admin ofc. )
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
sfc /scannow
chkdsk ( check disk per drive letter in system )
this just dont explan VC+++ rep ( because its thirdpart and not part of MS default )
a none game pc wont have them installed. as we do.
if you understand i took your reply with not know what happend here.
teachnicaly it will happend again if you id a VC++ remove in system and reinstall game then old VC+++ will have applyed, seen old game add to of same VC++ with diffrent version you try avoid this in system its rare but can happend.
i dont have the game i cant help you, only people with the game and with a problem can contact steam or game devs.
there are plenty of games that requires these.
here is a screenshot
https://imgur.com/a/4wtfbFU
i highly recommend you go to that page like i did in the screenshot OP
click each one of them starting from Microsoft Visual C++ 2012, 2013 and 2015-2022
press the "modify".
there will be a system prompt "click yes", next is to click "repair".
do it for all of them and once done, computer will prompt you to restart computer.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i had the same problem like you OP previously for a different Steam game, i went to look around the web browser to find the solution.
i also can't find the solution
that is when i remember that majority of the Steam Games during their setup when you first time run the game, they will go and do something to the Microsoft Visual C++.
^_^
so technicaly as uberfriend also point out dont really matter who did it or with what, the code might say it and unberfiend could have a point with a dump code that just say software dont work as it should, and as a user, thats just great nice code with no hint with what.
sense this is game devs files and require thidpart apps or GPU driver needed and update thats why i think in those terms. before test what if system has the issue.
im sure we try avoid fix your pc then, because that fit all problem here.
point is the more we know in how to fix it or think we do until other have better idea with workaround its still game devs that has support or its publisher.
