RGB Service crashing randomly
I've been using Asus Aura Sync for a couple of days now, today it's "LightingService" crashed randomly. It also crashes sometimes when I restart my pc but today it crashed hours ago at 2pm and I logged back in at 5pm and saw my rgb resetted. What should I do?

Try reinstalling the software!

I've tried other things, the software came with 3 junk apps according to others; Galax gamer rgb and 2 patriot viper rgb apps, I had kept them until now because I thought aura sync needed these. I uninstalled them and configured the aura sync service.

If it crashes again in future I'll either try reinstalling the app or just entirely remove it and run my system on default colours. System stability matters more to me than colours.

Are you running Logitech G-Hub? That always crashes Aura when it updates for me.

Asus aura sync was the easiest to install and use that's why I went with this one, I initially wanted to install msi mystic light as I got a msi board, when I saw it installs a bunch of other junk I don't need I didn't keep it but if you guys got better suggestions, I'll be grateful.

It's asus aura sync, the only other software I'm running is msi afterburner for my gpu settings

C:\Program Files (x86)\LightingService\LightingService.exe
Problem event: APPCRASH

It's the service associated with Aura Sync that crashes, not the Aura Sync app and it crashes randomly every 2 days according to control panel's reliability monitor

You installed it through Armory crate or the aura installer? (Stop the service from services.msc then uninstall it with REVO uninstaller and (re)install with the latest Armory crate.) Had the same problem but with an ASUS mobo.

I installed the standalone aura sync utility, wanted to avoid the fuss of having a full blown software with other utilities I won't use like msi dragon center.

I have radeon rx 6600, windows 11. This game crashed after 1 or 2 hours of playing. It is very frustrating. I have installed new drivers but that doesn't help me.

So, it crashed today and the "fixes" I tried didn't really work it seems. I decided to uninstall aura and it's related service but "asus com service" still exists. Will reinstalling windows remove all this?

Did you ever find a fix?

Nope. Just did a clean install and bought physically controlled fans instead, everything is red now except my RAM sticks.

Have you tried OpenRGB to control your RGB devices? Asus Aura is supported.

I looked into OpenRGB, it seems to be the community preference but I didn't feel risking it. If it crashed just like Aura and uninstalling the software left some residual files programs....well that'd be the same story over again.
