5.1 SURROUND SOUND NOT WORKING
First, a little back story..... ive been using stream remote play on a mini PC (windows 10) hooked up to my Samsung Tv for almost 2 years..
I have the tv hooked up to a 7.1 receiver and have windows speaker config set to 7.1 and Steam remote play to audio to 5.1. this works great.! the receiver detects "dolby digital" and in-game, all 7 speakers play discrete audio even without them having a "surround sound" setting in the game. I was surprised that it worked so well but i was glad that it did.

However, about a month ago I noticed my games were only playing audio out of the front 3 speakers. i can switch to pro logic 2 , or DTS neo 6 format and it sounds "ok" but its not nearly the same as the "Dolby digital" sound I was getting before. switching to these formats also isn't normally possible when Dolby digital source is detected..which is usually how i verify that i am indeed getting true surround sound. what I have done is:

- checked steam remote play audio settings and it was indeed still set to 5.1..
- uninstalled and reinstalled steam...
- tested the speaker configuration in windows and it indeed played sound out of each speaker

(Solution) the last thing it tried was to install the Steam link App....thankfully the windows version of app has a setting for 5.1 and it works ... I have true surround sound in games again!.

so the question is...wtf happened to 5.1 audio setting in the Stream client? I have to believe one of the many random updates broke this feature. along with randomly asking me to retype my password every time I launch the game. Has anyone else had this issue?
